My Writing
My favorite projects amplify the stories of immigrants, women and people from diverse backgrounds. There's this story about a Tulsa sub-sandwich franchise owned and operated by immigrants, the piece featuring a local tailoring shop that employs immigrant mothers and this feature about the long, fragile work of a diversity trailblazer.
I love the stories I discover in my everyday life like this story about a professional ballet company that teaches adult dancers returning to a childhood hobby, this profile of ethnic grocery stores and what they mean to their customers, these interviews with local Hmong farmers and my food memoir essays about meals I ate as a young Vietnamese-American.
